Tampa-based salons, The Salon & Spa at Mystic Hair and The Edge Salon Tampa strive to not only provide exceptional customer service, but to also help those in need.
After conducting fundraisers benefiting Tampa-native Summer Moll, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation and Autism Speaks, salon owners Chris and MaryLynn Pearson recently held a month-long fundraiser, including a day-long Cut-a-Thon, benefitting Tampa’s Operation Helping Hand.
Operation Helping Hand provides assistance and support to the families of active duty military personnel who are wounded or injured following a tour of duty, usually from Iraq or Afghanistan. The organization also helps active duty patients at the Tampa VA Hospital who were injured worldwide with wounds and injuries including burns, amputations and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
Kim Francis Communications’ specially-designed Media Relations and Social Media campaigns worked in conjunction to distribute key information on the salons’ efforts and events which were distributed throughout the various media outlets. Details of the on-going fundraising quickly gained traction across all platforms and ultimately helped the salons surpass goals and raise more than $7,000.
